For your consideration is a rare 1987 U.S.A. B.C. Rich ST-III in factory snakeskin finish that was made in B.C. Rich's original Los Angeles, California shop during the heyday of the 80's Sunset Strip era. Really, nothing is more 80's L.A. metal than a snakeskin B.C. Rich shredder.

This one sustained some damage when it was shipped to me when both strap buttons were jammed into the body. No cracks in the wood around the body, just the buttons were pressed into the wood. Nothing that affects playability or structural integrity, and was resolved simply by using Dimarzio ClipLock straps to cover the deep indentations in the wood. Your call if that is an issue but I wanted to describe the damage as accurately as possible. The Dimarzio straps are rock solid and my suggestion is to leave them there. I will include the strap and installed clip locks with the guitar.

This guitar was given Sperzel locking tuners as the guitar came to me with a hodge-podge of random mismatched tuners that had to go. Probably the original owners changed them at different times as one had to be replaced, but who knows. This guitar has what appears to be an Ibanez Edge tremelo, not sure if that was added by the prior owner, but likely was. Trem bar included.

Other than that, this guitar is in amazing condition for its age, as all other parts are original. Factory original 80's Dimarzio Super Distortion in the bridge, and factory B.C. rich single-coils. There are a few chip/dings on the body with the worst on the upper bout (see pictures) as well as various finish swirls throughout. Snakeskin finish is in excellent condition as most dings and scratsches are in the black sides and back. I tried to picture these as best I could. As far as playability, this one has a couple of high frets which will need to be leveled. Otherwise, everything functions as it should.

Also included is the original hardshell case, which has some normal wear for its age but is fully functional.

These are some of the best playing shredders out there and the few I owned always had an enormous slab of beautiful rosewood, this being no exception. If you are looking for an awesome vintage shredder, that needs a little TLC and a good setup to make it playing perfect, this one is for you.

Shipping is to the lower 48 continental U.S. only.
