A very nice 1959 Silverstone 1421/1327 made by harmony.
Essentially this is a Harmony Stratotone Mars rebranded for Sears. Very nice condition, electronics are great and both of the DeArmond pickups work well. It has the original control knobs and minor neck wear. At some point extra markers were added at the 12th fret.
Comes with a vintage chipboard case.
From the Silvertone website:
“These 'Stratotone'-based Silvertones were from our friends at 'H Co.' That's the name that would sometimes appear on Sears boxes to try and disguise the fact that they were in fact, Harmony made guitars.
The 1326, 1327, 1420 and 1421are all Stratotone-derived axes from Harmony. The 132X series was a nice 'shaded sunburst' available in 1 or two p/u models with a brief window of availability that makes them quite a bit more rare than their siblings, the more widely available 1420 and 1421. These were two-pickups guitars available in black and 'shaded walnut.' In today's collectors market, 1420 models abound... the 1421, 1326 & 1327... not so much”
