Hello and welcome to The House of Chrome.

If you're a singer or broadcaster looking for something special with excellent sound quality and an old school style and flair then you might want to consider this classic Shure microphone. It's the 1960's / 70's era 580SB model that could be used for a variety if purposes and it comes with the original short cable, case and a Shure A-25 model mic clip.
Pic # 2 is from an old 1968 Shure catalog showing this very model along with it's basic characteristics. This mic was only sold for about 10 years or less so you don't see many of these around.  This was very similar to a Shure 515 series mic except it was a bit larger. The 580SB was not as good as the 545 series mic as the frequency response was inferior to the 545 but it's still a lovely sounding mic with a warm smooth tone and quite rugged. It was a more affordable option to the very expensive 545 at that time.
The Shure Brothers 545 model dynamic cardioid microphone has uber strong output and has excellent uni-directional characteristics. The signal strength on this old mic is 100%. Like new and absolutely no issues. Set at low impedance. The 580 series had distinctive looks and was a an aggressive mid-century design. I believe it was first introduced in 1966 or 67.

The 580SB could be hand held or placed into the mic clip for any situation. The mic has the all metal body with plastic front grill. Usually these plastic front grills are cracked from falls or over tightening but this mic has none of that. It was well taken care of. The inner foam pop filter has been replaced as well. No odors, dents or tarnish. The Shure label looks very nice...completely legible. I replaced the front inner foam pop filter which helps greatly with sound characteristics.

The satin chrome handle has zero imperfections and this is probably the nicest 580SB I have ever seen. The on / off switch works perfectly. No issues. I'd rate the cosmetic condition a conservative 9 + on a scale of 1 - 10.

The mic is appx 6 1/2 inches long X 1 1/2 inches wide at the tip. Fairly lite weight for it's larger size.

This mic has the built in attached cable. It's soft and pliable. It was originally 18 feet in length but had some exterior damage from years of use so I cut it down to just 6 inches and attached a quality Swithccraft male XLR end connector. Much more practical too. Simply attach any longer XLR cable of choice as an extension and you're in business. There's plenty of room in the 580SB case for an additional cable.

The mic clip is a brand new Shure A-25 model that fits the mic perfectly and has a good grip providing plenty of tension. It will screw onto any desk or floor stand you have. The clip shows zero cosmetic wear.

This mic will do you justice and should last 100 years if taken care of properly. They just built these mics so nicely and can take a ton of abuse.
