Vintage RARER 1940's Astatic D-104 crystal "Lollipop" microphone Chrome w adapter & period Atlas DS-5 desk stand PROP DISPLAY # 2

You are looking at a unique Astatic model D-104 crystal microphone from the late 1940's or 1950's that comes with a period Astatic lower adapter and period Atlas DS-5 desk stand shown.

 Pic # 2 is from my 1945 microphone catalog and shows the mics specs and cost. 

 The D-104 was manufactured by Astatic in Conneaut, Ohio and was to be used as a public address mic as it's non-directional. It was a very popular design for this company and they continued to make the D-104 for many decades retaining the same overall style but this was a D-104 with the later model glued on aluminum badge. This earlier version has the riveted badge. A very cool piece in very good cosmetic condition that would be excellent for display or prop purposes.

 The mic still has the original element but is currently non-working. You can always replace the element with a newer D-104 element if you plan on using the mic.

 The polished chrome body has just lite scratches but free of any corrosion or dents. I would rate the cosmetic condition a very conservative 8 + out of 1 - 10 and the Astatic badge is completely legible as well.

 The mic comes with an lower F-11 adapter and comes with a short original 6 inch cable that is soft, pliable and free of damage. Very clean and has a vintage male Cannon XLR connector.

 The mic comes with a nice stand in which to display the mic and the stand is just a few years newer than the mic being a 1950's model.

 The stand is an Atlas DS-5 type with a stock painted cast iron base and polished chrome riser that makes a very stable platform for this D-104. 

 The stand is just as nice as the mic and still has the original rubber pads on the bottom. No discoloration or paint chips on the painted finish.

 The measurements with stand and mic are 11 inches in height X 6 inches wide. 

 A very cool piece that will draw attention anywhere it's shown.
