I am offering a Real Guitars Custom Built T from 2005, a completely handbuilt in Leverkusen custom Telecaster model from the infamous German luxury guitar forge of Ulrich Stöveken with an extremely resonant one-piece swamp ash body (total weight 3.0kg), bolt-on maple neck with sanded back, thick “U” neck profile and 42.7mm bone nut, one-piece maple fingerboard with black dot position inlays and 9.5-12” compound radius, sonically hot Suhr Vintage Tele singlecoil set and three-piece ABM Vintage Tele bridge with brass string saddles in an authentically aged Butterscotch Blonde Heavy Relic Nitro finish with aged nickel hardware in mint condition including a Lifton '59 Tweed hardshell case, a Real Guitars certificate and a professional setup with 10-gauge Elixir Strings guitar.
For decades, Ulrich Stöveken has been handcrafting custom guitars under the Real Guitars brand, which are now among the most sought-after German instruments and are played by musicians all over the world. Real Guitars combines the best hardware and woods with a way of building guitars that takes great care and attention to detail, creating instruments that visually, sonically and technically outshine even some American custom shop models – and at a realistic price/performance ratio.
And this Real Guitars Custom Built T from 2005 (one of the first years) is no exception: it comes in the beautifully aged Butterscotch Blonde Nitro finish and maple neck in the classic Tele look par excellence, exuding that unmistakable '50s vintage vibe at first glance. The thin “weather-checked” nitro body finish highlights the strong grain of the one-piece swamp ash body very successfully, and together with the sanded maple neck (part of the aging) and the one-piece maple fingerboard, it gives the impression that it was truly built in the 1950s.
The selected swamp ash body gives the instrument a low weight of 3.0kg, and it resonates audibly from the first note. Once it is plugged in, it takes a moment to gather yourself from the sheer load of wiry Tele twang. The vintage Tele pickup set from the US pickup manufacturer Suhr, which gives the guitar a pleasantly clear clean tone with plenty of bite, as well as snotty, wiry, yet powerful, singing sounds when distorted, also ensures this.
A sound example of a similar model (only with Amber pickups) can be found at the top of the photo gallery.
With the factory-aged, chunky “U”-shape maple neck, the guitar lies comfortably in the hand and feels extremely valuable with the direct contact to the wood.
So if you are looking for an incredibly hot Tele at 120% Custom Shop level, this is the one for you!

This is one of the very early models by Uli Stöveken, which was made entirely by hand! The original price for a comparable model (with a 1-piece swamp ash body, Suhr pickups and case) is far over €3,000 – and involves a waiting period of several months.
This Real Guitars Tele is in mint condition and technically flawless. Visually, the factory aging has had virtually no impact (see pictures). The frets are flawless.
The guitar has received a professional setup with 10-gauge Elixir strings and I (I am a long-time guitar teacher) will ship with DHL for €29.99 within Germany or €79.99 within the EU. Worldwide shipping possible - individual shipping costs on request.
