This collection of guitars pays homage to the remarkable legacy of Taylor founders Bob Taylor and Kurt Listug, celebrating their significant contributions to the art of guitar-making. Each model in this series reflects Bob Taylor's early influences and showcases his groundbreaking design innovations, capturing the spirit and craftsmanship that have defined Taylor's journey in the world of music.

The Taylor Guitars Legacy Collection commemorates 50 years of groundbreaking musical craftsmanship and innovation. This special series launches with five acoustic models that pay tribute to Taylor's rich heritage. Three of these models are reimagined versions of rosewood/spruce guitars from the iconic 800 Series, which trace their origins to some of Bob Taylor’s earliest creations. The other two models spotlight the Grand Auditorium body style, a signature design that has come to define the modern Taylor sound.  

Drawing inspiration from Bob Taylor’s original builds, these retrospective guitars embody the essence of Taylor’s history by blending foundational design principles with key advancements developed over the years. To mark this milestone, the first 100 guitars of each model will include an interior label personally signed by Taylor founders Bob Taylor and Kurt Listug, adding a unique touch of authenticity and legacy to these exceptional instruments.

The Legacy 815e stands out as the only Jumbo, non-cutaway acoustic-electric model in the Taylor lineup, combining elements of Bob Taylor's early designs with refined, modern enhancements. Constructed with solid Indian rosewood back and sides paired with a Sitka spruce top, this guitar's large body produces a bold, commanding tone. Its traditional X-bracing, a hallmark of Bob Taylor's early craftsmanship, delivers a warm, resonant sound characterized by clear trebles, rich, throaty bass, and a gentle midrange scoop, enriched by lush, blooming overtones. 

The guitar features a contemporary Taylor neck profile designed for comfort and ease of play, alongside vintage-inspired details such as the mustache bridge and a straight-ear peghead capped with a rosewood veneer. Its aesthetic is completed with appointments reminiscent of Taylor’s original creations, including white binding, a three-ring rosette adorned with green abalone, ebony bridge pins with green abalone accents, a faux-tortoiseshell pickguard, and a gloss finish on both the body and neck. Non-engraved Large Diamond fretboard inlays in mother-of-pearl add an elegant touch. 

The Legacy 815e also includes a Legacy interior label and an LR Baggs Element VTC undersaddle pickup system, equipped with volume and tone controls discreetly positioned inside the soundhole. For protection, it comes with a deluxe hardshell case, making it a timeless and versatile instrument ready for any performance or collection.
