Offering a vintage 1940's Shure model 91A27 "Zeppelin" Dynamic Microphone, hailed by Shure as "one of the sharpest looking and good sounding general purpose microphones of the mid-20th century"!      There was a lot of mic design experimentation going on at that time; designs based on car grills, rockets, searchlights, skyscrapers, and even this one...nicknamed the "Zeppelin", for it's resemblance to the awesome blimp/airships of the era. (This model is identical to Shure's 708 model.) The pivot joint holds the tilt angle firmly in place and the mic stand threads are undamaged. Overall it's in excellent restored condition, with new Hammertone Grey paint and sharp red pinstriping. The Shure ID badge is clear, and testing provides good sound and output level. (Check out an audio sample on the listing video.) ** Note that crystal element quality favors midrange frequencies with low-freq roll-off.

The Shure S26, or "Turtle Shell" base has also been restored, repainted, and both mic and stand match together very nicely. The stand has all 5 rubber feet plus the cable strain-relief at the back end, plus newly installed Burgundy grill cloth. (The previous owner had a switch at the front which we removed.) This sale includes a new 5' plug-in Amphenol connector cable with 1/4" male phono plug, or we can wire it to a male XLR plug if you prefer. . ** Always safe secure packaging and fast fair shipping. ** Always safe secure packaging and fast fair shipping. Also, save with combined shipping on multiple purchases. **
