Steve Gorman's Black Crowes/Jimmy Page Tour, Ludwig Classic Series 4-Piece Set, Signed!!
Steve Gorman was a founding member of the Black Crowes. He was a member of the band from 1987 through 2005. The Black Crowes have sold 30 million albums and continue to be a major touring force. Readers of Rolling Stone voted them 'Best New American Band' in 1990. In 2025, they were nominated for induction into The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame for the first time.
Steve Gorman played this Ludwig Mirror Chrome Maple Classic drum set with the Black Crowes most notably on the band's 1999-2000 Black Crowes / Jimmy Page tour. Jimmy Page is of course the legendary Led Zeppelin guitarist. Page joined the Black Crowes from 1999-2000 performing both Black Crowes and Led Zeppelin material in live performances. The tour produced two live albums "Live At The Greek" and "The Complete Jones Beach Broadcast, New York 2000". Gorman's chrome Ludwig set can be seen prominently on the cover of the Jones Beach album.
The set paid homage to Led Zeppelin drummer John Bonham's Stainless Steel Ludwig set in the same configuration. An appropriate choice while joining forces with Jimmy Page.
All members of the Black Crowes (excluding Jimmy Page) signed the graphic logo bass drum head that is included with the set. This drum head was made for the Crowes / Page tour but never used live. The band ultimately decided on a different version of the graphic for their live shows.
The late 1990s set consists of Ludwig 6 ply shells covered in Mirror Chrome finish. All drums have clear Ludwig Silver Dot batter heads and Remo coated Ambassadors on the bottom.
22x16" bass drum, 13x9" rack tom, 16x16 and 18x16" floor toms. The snare, cymbals and hardware in the photos are not included.
The set remains in excellent condition with no notable issues. The photos depict the condition accurately.
