The sleek body shape is familiar—straight from the original Charvel San Dimas basses of the late 1970s, with the deeper cutaway that gave adventurous bassists effortless access to the high notes.

The ultra-thin Charvel Speed ​​bolt-on maple neck is crafted in the original style, with a beautiful caramel finish, graphite reinforcement, and a heel-mounted adjustment wheel for easy tuning. The 12-16” compound-radius caramel maple fingerboard flattens gradually from nut to heel for fast, smooth playing, and features rolled edges, 20 jumbo frets, and Luminlay® side dots.

And like the originals, the Pro-Mod San Dimas® PJ IV MAH bass features the powerful voice of DiMarzio® pickups—a J™ model at the bridge for well-balanced punch and a P® model in the middle for warm, fat tone with midrange growl when pushed. Versatile electronics include a three-band active EQ, pickup blend control and master volume control with push/pull switch. The push/pull switch eliminates the risk of tone loss due to a dead battery, as a single press of the volume knob bypasses the active EQ circuit and recovers the bass tone without using battery power.

A Charvel HiMass™ bridge, Graph Tech® TUSQ® XL nut and open-gear tuners combine for exceptional tuning stability with enhanced note punch and sustain.

This 4-string bass is presented in Natural Mahogany and Satin Ferrari Red finishes with chrome hardware, cream pickup covers and a licensed Fender® Precision Bass® headstock shape.
