This specific harness listed has some new basics Pro Tones will be providing all future harnesses and some information on new products you don’t want to miss.

New Products! We have included just one of the caps, they are cinnamon drops that we at Pro Tones firmly believe have superior quality and sound that only Sprague Orange Drops have produced for decades! Yes, it’s almost hard for me to type this. We have vetted what we believe is an exact alternative to Sprague Drops in every way. They're half the cost, so we can lower our price to you, still look cool, they measure out at staggering tolerance level and exact values, and are our new standard to have you and your rig sounding best. We’re starting with this one treble bleed cap, which is one of their lines of caps measuring at .0022uF with a 150K resistor for a smoother rolloff of the highs and longer and sweeter taper of the pot! The other values look like this cap, so this gives you an idea!

We are eliminating the use of all grounding plates unless absolutely necessary to adhere the solderless connectors in on and we are now offering a completely 360 degree perimeter of 16 AWG!!!! pre-tinned bus wire!!!! Most use very thin, the thickest we’ve seen used is 18 AWG, so we’re using an even more profound strength at 16 AWG (the smaller the number, the larger and strong it is). This is like a roll-bar cage in a race car and probably stronger than one! 🏎️

This is bound to not only the components but also the selector switch as well!!! There is NO better grounding than this. We found the grounding plates to be ugly, take up space in the cavity and for some players, prevented the nut and spacer from being able to be fully secured onto their pickguards or body of guitar. Many were just removing them anyway! We were still connecting components, so they were useless and they costed us $7 a piece!!!!! Now, we can save that $ and pass that savings on to YOU! Plus, now you have a more secure, better grounded unit and for cheaper! And, it’ll fit all models of cavities - the others don’t fit right or sit right within the cavity.

Lastly, we will begin using specialty wiring methods that will give you different, unique and MUCH better control of how your tone buttons work together with your pickups and better tone altogether! This one listed includes the Bridge pickup on the back tone control and is wired with the tone pots after the Volume pot, giving you that ‘57 sound!! Neck and Middle are on tone 1 pot.

The capacitor shown is not included in this listing, as it was for the first buyer as a special one-time offering at this price. We have any and every vintage and NOS and value cap available, but the tone capacitor shown will not be included with your purchase (regardless if you’ve read this far or not).

The tone capacitor will be replaced with a newer Sprague Orange Drop ALTERNATIVE we discussed above 👆moving forward. We do have thousands of specialty and vintage caps available, just ask - we do charge extra, but do not take advantage of you or your wallet when we add special caps or different values.

Lastly, the PureTone Jack was also a one-time offering for this listing and the one shown in the photos are not included. We feel the GLS is better overall, but many love the $10 Pure Tones. We will provide the Switchcraft / GLS output jacks with most of our harness line up, including this one.

*** We often and quite frequently (daily) mix up the wiring and connector colors and patters we use, based on inventory, or just feeling creative. We realize once these mods and harnesses are in place, no one can see them. We build them as if you have a plexiglass control panel and EVERYONE INCLUDING YOU can see them. With that in mind, please don’t get married to the colors in the photos, as they will possibly or likely change each day based on inventory and flat out mood we’re in. Trying to be transparent here. We like to have fun at the shop. We don’t want to have just white and black or black and yellow. If you HAVE to have or not have certain colors, you can let us know before (never after) purchasing and we will do our best to either accommodate or explain why we can’t/wont. Just note this so there are no misunderstandings or confusion later. :-)
