I’m beyond stoked to present the Harakiri Doom Muff, a clone of the soon to be classic EQD Hizumitas and one of my favorite fuzz pedals ever built. As I’m sure you know, this circuit hails from the legendary doomer Wata of the band Boris… she had been making walls shake and giving folks like me tinnitus for many years with an old Elk Sustainar (Japanese Muff clone), a mainstay on her pedalboard and key component of her tone. EQD was badass enough to replicate this circuit for the masses (we‘re not worthy!!!)

This pedal is gnarly… heavy, heavy fuzz but with plenty of articulation (which I think is where this pedal really shines). I run it wide open with the tone at about 3 o’clock… roll back your volume knob and you’ve got heavy, sludgy doom tones. Roll your knob up and you’ve got a fierce growling doomer. And I haven’t even gotten to the best part about this pedal, which is its crazy sustain. Chords ringing out for days with no loss of articulation. Seriously, best sustain of any fuzz I’ve played, even up there with my very own Dopesmoker which has wild sustain. This pedal is also very versatile and plays well with other pedals in gain staging (pro tip: boost it with a Plumes or a compressor/sustainer). Also coming soon, it’s sister pedal Seppuku, which is a clone of the very rare and even more gnarly Sekova Muff (another Japanese Muff copy from around the same era as the Elk).

This pedal is hand-built and hand-painted in Salt Lake City. Please allow 2-3 weeks for build time. It’s worth your patience.
