Woodtone Barry Kerr 0 Parlor Preowned 1997
Barry Kerr has been building acoustic guitars since 1984. Over the last 3 decades, he has refined many of the traditional construction methods to produce an instrument that is beautiful and durable with great tone and volume. Specialising in smaller-sized guitars, his forward-thinking designs have yielded some phenomenal-sounding guitars, built right in our backyard. Sadly Barry no longer takes commissions for his work, making this guitar all the more special.
This 1997 custom-built 0 model is a fabulous early example of Kerr's craftsmanship and attention to detail. Featuring a gorgeous King William Pine soundboard and highly-figured Cocobolo back-and-sides, it has a rich and earthy tone, with plenty of natural compression and sparkling harmonics. I bought it from new so only one owner since 1997, and there's plenty of play wear and patina but no signs of mistreatment - it's been serviced regularly by Barry since being built! There's an onboard preamp for powerful plugged-in tone, and it includes a generic hardshell case. A wonderful Australian-made parlour guitar with high-end timbers and a wonderfully unique tone. Includes hardshell case.
The item has been priced by the Luthier himself however I am open to reasonable offers and trades. If interested, I have more detailed photos available.
