Original one owner 1989 Gibson WRC SR71 built exclusively by Wayne Charvel for Gibson.
Many guitar aficionados are familiar with Wayne Charvel and his incredible guitars and many of those same enthusiasts don't know that for a very short time in the late 1980's Wayne worked with Gibson and then Chairman Henry Juszkiewicz to build a few of the greatest guitars ever.
Gibson USA built the Showcase Edition WRC SR71 at their Custom Shop in Nashville.
Unlike the lesser versions, this limited run guitar came with active EMG pick ups, ebony fretboard with a very flat radius, as well as jumbo frets, and the unique Kahler tremolo system, making this guitar very versatile and one of Charvel's best designs. Note the extra, 4th switch not on the lesser versions to activate the bridge pickup in any given position.
The pearl white color was also limited to the Showcase models and has aged nicely on this guitar.
I just took it out of the case after several years and it is perfectly in-tune ! ! ! It absolutely plays and sounds amazing, exactly as you'd expect from a handmade guitar. Playing without an amp highlights the body's tone and resonance. It seems to sustain forever. Unbelievable. These don't come up for sale often, so here's your chance.
Weighs in at 7lbs 14oz. Serial number 80119739
Built on January 11th 1989 in Nashville and is number 39 out of 100 for that year.
This is still a very rare guitar in original condition, and most importantly it’s a great player that’s surprisingly versatile as well.
Shipping to other countries can be discussed.
I also have this one for sale. Take a look. https://reverb.com/item/84339352-1983-gibson-explorer-custom-shop-korina-black
