Today, Lawman Guitars is Presenting...
A beautiful, and extremley RARE, 1969 made in Japan Ibanez Model 2475 STLP Strat Style Electric Guitar. This guitar is all original, but the upgraded bridge, and it plays and sounds great! These earlier Ibanez guitars are really cool and getting rare. I have not seen this model before. Our Japanese Guitar Expert told us that with the natural headstock and Ibanez Script Logo, it is for 1969. These never appeared in any Ibanez catalogs, made only in 1969 and made less than 50 of them overall. Just try to find another one!
Be sure to check our video demo of this incredible guitar!
Really pretty Sunburst Strat Style Top. Just some superficial dings and scratches from Player wear. Really in excellent shape for a 55 year old guitar.
When we got it, the frets had been played to death. Worn almost to the fretboard in some areas. We made the decision to give this guitar new life with a complete re-fret. Its ready now for another 55 years of play. Our Jeff the Tech also checked our all the electronics, replaced the input jack with a new Switchcraft for reliability and set it up with awesome low playing action with a new set of Dr Ducks 10 guage strings.
The only other thing to point out is the bridge. The original was gone but it had the shown tunematic style bridge replacement. Our Tech suggested with leave it as it will not intonate properly which is why was put on by the previous owner. The fixed bridge would not be as effective. We'll leave any bridge replacement up to the new owner. See pic 3. Otherwise, the pickguard, tailpiece, knobs, pickups, neck, body, truss rod cover, nut and tuners are all original. The guitar weighs 7 lbs 13 ozs... Not too heavy!
The Three Ibanez Single Coil Pickups sound great …When we got the guitar we were afraid someone had added a coil tap switch to it. We were assured that the switch is not a coil tap and it is original. It adds the middle pickup to the other pickup selections that also adds a cool boost to the sound, almost like a humbucker. First selector switch setting is the neck. Add the switch and you have neck and middle. Middle selector switch setting you have the neck and bridge..add the switch and you have all three pickups... last selector switch setting you have the bridge pickup and add the switch and you have the bridge and middle. Lots of cool sounds out of this really awesome guitar! The Ibanez pickups are very strong. Blues machine for sure.
How bout the original Hard Shell Case? As nice as the guitar. All the latches, hinges, original handle, back restraint strap and even the accessory box are still with it. Nice Orange Plush interior with no moisture damage. An excellent case for your cool, super RARE Ibanez Guitar!
Beautiful but its vintage and used so it's sold as is no returns. Thanks for respecting that.
