Rare and exceptional second improved generation of the Ampeg scroll bass, there were only about 300 of these made - this is serial #000227. This instrument has a few modifications: an added bridge Bartolini "High-A" pickup and an ebony thumb rest bar just above the pickups for finger style playing. I am the original and only owner and played this instrument on thousands of gigs and studio sessions in the 1970's and 1980's.
The bass has been played a lot and shows some wear but still has an unique look, major vibe and robust tone. The neck is not wide but quite rounded to give a nice feel. Included is a rip stop nylon custom made-to-fit gig bag.
Please note: Reverb's automated product info wants to list this as an AUB-1 fretless - It is an AMB-1 (with frets.)
