***Listing now has a video of this guitar, see last "picutre" slot***

Can't believe I'm selling this guitar, waited seven years for it (ordered in early 2014, delivered in 2021).

Chessie like the Duane Denison model but some differences. 1) Three single coil EGC pickups 2) Mastery tremolo 3) GraphTech Ghost piezo bridge with separate 1/4" output 4) Pickups screwed to the neck.

This guitar sounds awesome and plays awesome, best guitar I've ever had in these regards and I love everything about it except that it weighs 9 pounds 12 ounces, I think due to the bar from the neck that the pickups bolt on to, which was not there on the EGC Chessie I had before this one that weighed 8 pounds 6 ounces (which was what I thought I was ordering). One pound six ounces does not seem like much but my back has become more intolerant of weight over the years and it definitely notices, especially when playing multi-hour sessions which I do often. And this is the reason I'm selling: Not playing it near as much as my light guitar these days and I could use the money.

Each electric pickup has it's own on/off switch and the knobs are electric volume, electric tone, acoustic piezo volume and acoustic piezo tone. There are two 1/4" outputs: One for the electric pickups and one for the piezo. I set up all my guitars with separate piezo outputs and blend the outputs with aby/mixer pedals. The piezo adds sparkle and overtones when mixed underneath the electric pickups signal in just the right way.

Has wear and tear, I played it pretty extensively after I received it, but only in my studio. These are normal use scratches and smudges but the aluminum really picks them up. Don't know if it is possible to buff them out, have not tried. This is the only reason it is listed as Very Good instead of Excellent. Photos show them well, better than looking at the guitar IRL actually.

Just restrung it with a new set of Ernie Ball Regular Slinkys.

EGC added a preamp for the piezo bridge, which I subsequently bypassed. It was not part of my specs and I don't need it so rather than worry about the battery being dead, it was easier to bypass. If you need it, you can reconnect it (it is still inside the guitar), or have your tech do it.

Tremolo arm is in the case. Since this is a Mastery vibrato, the arm snaps into the vibrato which is really wonderful, love Mastery vibratos. Thank you to EGC for the suggestion. Have now had three guitars with Mastery vibratos in them and this is the best action of all of them. It's perfect if you like to strum with the tremolo and a pick in your hand (aka "glide" guitar). It's just the right height to get a bit of warble with a natural strum, at least for my hand.

Please ask all the questions you need to, this is a lot of money to spend. I want you to be completely comfortable and ready when you press Buy.

Feedback from the other Chessie I sold:

"Electrical Guitar Company Duane Denison Chessie - Aluminum guitar w/ Ghost piezo bridge, Fralin P-92 pickupsBrian E. – Aug 2nd, 2023

Bert answered all my questions promptly and thoroughly, and was incredibly patient with my many follow up questions. The guitar was shipped promptly, arrived exactly as described, and was well packed and zero damage. You couldn't ask for a better transaction. Thanks!"

If your back can handle a 9 lb 12 oz guitar and you can afford it, I don't think you will regret this one. It is an amazing guitar.

Frequently Unasked Questions:

1) Returns?  No! All items are sold "As Described", meaning unless it was damaged in shipping or there is something wrong with it that I neglected to state either in the description or reveal in the photos, a return is not available. Do your research, make sure this is what you want! Because once it leaves here, I will be happy to not see it again and continue on making music in relative peace.

2) What does it come with?  What you see in the photos.

3) Is it in working condition?  Everything in all of my listings worked as it should the last time I used them, unless otherwise noted. I rarely, if ever, sell items that do not work, or don't work as expected, and make it VERY clear if that is the case.

4) How will you pack it? As carefully as reasonably possible.

5) Why do you not offer Free Shipping?  I suppose I could raise the price to include shipping and Reverb's Seller Protection (which is basically insurance, I always get this and it isn't cheap). I've had internal debates about this. Other internal debates I've had include whether to get another dog, if conspiracy theorists really are paranoid loners or are actually just scared that reality is as random, chaotic and banal as it appears to be, and whether bald men with ponytails should still get laid.

6) I am a bald man with a ponytail, and a conspiracy theorist. Why are you being offensive? It's just humor, me amusing myself. I mean no disrespect to your hair or silliness, we swears it (gollum, gollum).

7) Do you ship internationally? Apologies to my international friends, because I love shipping myself to other parts of the world to experience your various cultures, love it almost as much as making music, but I've had terrible luck with international shipping and international buyers and am not doing it anymore. I'm really sorry. There is one exception. If you are a relatively regular ILFer (like me), send me your username and I will make an exception for you.

8) Will you accept my offer?  No! I really, really, really do not like haggling so the price is the price. I don't know how else to say it: I detest haggling. Don't even waste your time, you will just be ignored. I try to be fair with pricing and price slightly below market for the condition the item is in. If items don't sell, I gradually lower the price over time, or pull the listing and keep the item. Or maybe even give it to the local Goodwill or a young talented local musician, if it really falls low.

9) What is your best price? I think I could retire with 5 million dollars.

10)  No, what is your best price that you will take for this item? Oh, you want me to negotiate with myself. May I offer this advice: Perhaps not ask someone to negotiate with themselves. It is the human equivalent of entertaining yourself with a cat and a laser pointer.

11) You don't listen to offers and you won't tell me what your "best" price is, what am I supposed to do?  If you haven't read Joseph Heller's Catch-22, it's a fantastic book, one of my favorites, you could do that.

12) But I don't read. Well, that's obvious. You certainly didn't read this F.U.Q.

13) Do you want to trade? Almost certainly not, I pretty much have what I think I need at this time, though that is always changing so you never know. But extremely/extraordinarily doubtful.

14) Are you a scalper? No! When I think about the scalpers on here, a fantasy pops in my head that three of their appendages fall off and they have to spend an obscene amount of money getting Daniel Day Lewis to teach them how to feed themselves with their left foot. No, I am not a scalper. Making "music" is a personal journey and lifelong love. In other words, I really really suck at being a musician :). As such, I lose a ridiculous amount of money on gear so if this particular item is priced high, it is because it is in demand in the marketplace and I am taking advantage of a rare opportunity to partially offset my other losses. I lose a lot of money on this hobby.

15) I see you are selling a lot of other gear, will you combine shipping?  Certainly. If there is no combined shipping price when you add the items to your cart, please do get in touch. Or just buy them, I will refund you back the excess shipping and if you don't trust me cause you don't know me, that's fine, I will send you a receipt as the verification.

16) When will you ship?  I try my best to ship within two business days of your purchase. If, for some reason that is not possible, I will be in touch to grovel profusely and apologize.

17) Who is the dog in some of the photos? That's Bella, she is a Bassador, not an ambassador (unless we are being diplomatic with your heart). Aww......

Much obliged.
