Description:

The PL2550 is a Pro Line series solid body electric guitar model introduced by Ibanez in 1986.

The PL2550 features an offset double cutaway body with neck through body construction. Alder body wings are glued to a maple and walnut neck running the length of the guitar with a 22-fret ebony fingerboard with sharktooth position markers. Components include Ibanez pickups with an IBZ triple-magnet humbucker at the bridge and Super 7F single coil pickups at the neck and middle positions and an Edge double locking tremolo bridge with a locking nut.

The back of the neck and headstock of the PL2550 are painted. In addition to the 5-way pickup selector lever, the PL2550 has a 5-button pickup preset system.

The PL2550 was discontinued after 1986 and replaced by the similar PL2551.
