Swampy BLUESCASTER
This Strat was assembled from the best available parts and components we could get our hands on. Various necks, pickups etc. were tried before we settled on what we thought was a decent approximation of a late 50s/early 60s spec strat - about the time that rosewood fretboards entered the picture but you still had swamp ash bodies and early 60s pickups…however, there are two small departures from a true vintage spec: a set of closed back Gotoh tuners and 54mm wide Wilkinson trem/bridge…
the guitar is light weight and resonant and sounds like a million bucks.
It’s a mongrel to be sure … but what a mongrel ;-)
Specs:
ultra light swamp ash body (1.5kg) … with light oil finish
Chunkier maple neck with dark rosewood fretboard.
Custom hand-wound, early 60s style pickups with top notch wiring…
Vintage style Wilkinson trem with bent steel saddles and full steel block.
Gotoh tuners (close back)
Full weight 3.1 kg
