I just got this archtop from Ed Schaefer in July 2024! It is fully custom to my specs and I even got to pick out the woods used on this archtop. I have linked to this post a video of the build and how the guitar sounds. The video is a blend of both the electric pickup and a condenser mic on the archtop. It is in excellent condition but does have some scuffs throughout from lots of playing over the past year and also has 2 noticeable dings in the guitar (pictured above). I also added a strap button to the bottom of the lower bout because I prefer that over using the output jack. There is also swirling in the lacquer which just about every guitar has. It is only really visible in the light.
I wanted to try out a floating pickup 15", and I just prefer bigger archtops because I mainly play acoustically. This thing just doesn't produce the low end acoustically that larger archtops produce. The low end is great plugged in and that's how I would recommend this be played.
Please message me with an email if you’re any me to send a video of how this sounds acoustically vs a larger Archtop.
