1938 Epiphone Zenith archtop. All original tuners, bridge, pickgaurd and tailpiece.
With its twangy chug and the antique smell of an aged-walnut body, this instrument brings you back almost 100 years.
This was a mid-range instrument for Epiphone in the 1930s, well before Gibson bought Epiphone.
**recently added K&K Pure Archtop Twin-Head Transducer Pickup. She is electrified!**
Includes Epiphone hardshell case.
Note that we performed a neck reset this summer 2024 by locally renowned luthier Matt Shimala.
The action and intonation are impressive for a guitar from the 30s. It's obviously not perfect, but it plays pretty awesome.
It appears the binding has been replaced and is non-original on several areas. This work was from a prior owner. The binding has shrunk and separated in a few spots, see the photos. There is still plenty of life left though.
Marks dings and dents as shown in photos with no major cracks or weak spots on the body. Structurally this guitar is strong and stable. Note the finish is in excellent shape but wearing and scuffed from years of playing as shown in photos.
