At the time, this was Kawai's competitive reply to the Roland D-50. While this synth echos some elements of the D-50 it truly has it's own separate vibe and characteristics sound wise. The synth action of the velocity and after-touch sensing keyboard is quite nice. As well as the action of the pitch and mod wheel. In my opinion it out performs most of the key-beds on modern synths and midi controllers. Especially anything modern in the price range that I'm asking for in this sale. On that front I believe it makes for a great foundation to a midi controlling platform whether one is into late eighties digital synth sounds or not.
