Rare and Interesting post-WWII Synchromatic Flattop acoustic, showing attributes of both the Gretsch Synchromatic 125F and the X75F. Story is that this guitar was put together per order of Fred Gretsch Sr. and presented as a Thank You to prominent Mayo physician Claude F. Dixon who had successfully operated on Mr. Gretsch's wife.

Multi-ply binding top, back, & sound hole; single ply neck binding, handmade replacement pick guard
(perhaps later) 17" Jumbo Lifton hard case has extra room
Condition: No cracks or structural issues; neck may have been professionally reset (or refitted as part of original custom build- see story) in distant past- some clean finish lines show under black light; neck has been more recently professionally rebound /original binding in case; numerous poorly retouched dings on top (one horrific one underneath p'guard), one at end pin, and one at neck joint bass side; nice replacement pick guard, replacement tuner buttons; case latches, hinges, and original handle all working and in good condition. Guitar is set up with 11 Ga. strings, sets up and plays with nice low action
