Early Fullerton Era Fender Stratocaster ‘62 AVRI (American Vintage Reissue) from 1982 Low Serial Number V0037XX (3700th made)

This guitar was played nightly by a left handed Jimi Hendrix tribute guitarist in Texas for the first 22 years before I acquired in 2004 it was played nightly in bars left handed with the strap button drilled on the right horn. The finish on the top right bout and rear of the neck also indicates a very heavy left hand wear patterns… Check the photo’s throughly.

Some checking and lots of player wear and marks. The guitar is an early 1982, all original including the original untouched three way switch, red bobbin pickups. The case is also worn vintage tweed. The tremolo bar and ashtray bridge cover, ‘57/62 manual are included in the case only as shown.

Fullerton Era reissues were the first ever made in 1982-1984. They are considered by many players and collectors as the closest to the pre-CBS original Strats. They were made by hand, using the same methods, templates and even tools as the pre-CBS ones. They were produced for a short period of time, between 1982 and 1984, before Fender moved from Fullerton to Corona in 1985 (where also CNC machinery production was implemented and replaced hand crafting).

Since they were made only for two years, by hand and paying extraordinary attention to detail and original specs, a relatively small number were produced.

So, there are not many of them out there and this is a very early original example which has become already a piece of Fender history. According to many, this will be even more sought after in the future and become the next “pre-CBS” strats.
