Fullerton Era Fender Stratocaster ‘62 AVRI (American Vintage Reissue) from early 1983 (1-12-83 neck date / 12-20-82 body date). The guitar is in near mint natural condition considering it is already more than 40 years old. Minor checking and very lite player marks. The guitar is all original except the three way switch was changed to a five position one. The case is also mint and the original vintage tweed. The tremolo bar and ashtray bridge cover, hang tags and manual are included in the case.
Fullerton Era reissues were the first ever made in 1982-1984. They are considered by many players and collectors as the closest to the pre-CBS original Strats. They were made by hand, using the same methods, templates and even tools as the pre-CBS ones. They were produced for a short period of time, between 1982 and 1984, before Fender moved from Fullerton to Corona in 1985 (where also CNC machinery production was implemented and replaced hand crafting).
Since they were made only for two years, by hand and paying extraordinary attention to detail and original specs, a relatively small number were produced. So, there are not many of them out there and this is a mint example which has become already a piece of Fender history. According to many, this will be even more sought after in the future and become the next “pre-CBS” strats.
