StewMac Neck Shims for Bass
Tapered maple shims designed to adjust the angle of bolt-on necks for better playability. For years, players and repair shops have used makeshift shims like matchbook covers or guitar picks, but these create unwanted gaps under the neck heel that can cause issues like wood swelling or loss of tone.
These StewMac neck shims offer a full-contact solution, covering the entire neck heel to maintain firm contact between the neck and body. Created by renowned repair expert Dan Erlewine, these shims are tapered to fit perfectly and improve neck angle while preserving tone.
Available in 3 Degrees:
- **0.25-degree shim**: Versatile for fine-tuning neck angles. Stackable for dialing in precise adjustments.
- **0.5-degree shim**: The most common choice, ideal for Fender-style guitars and solidbody instruments.
- **1-degree shim**: Perfect for bass guitars with a post-mounted bridge.
