Steel bodied cutaway single cone with rubbed nickel finish with access to the nether regions of the 17th fret and above. Tricone-style grille soundports, UFO coverplate. Ivoroid bound Ebony fingerboard with diamond shaped inlays.
The openness of the grille ports combined with a single cone metal bodied guitar makes this the loudest of all the Nationals, with super, punchy, and sweet tone with a huge dynamic range. The Maple neck gives the tone a clear and bold quality.
Wonderful instrument that really cuts through when you need it to, and also offers a sweet reverberation true to the National name. Fantastic!
The guitarist in the video is the late great Al Petteway. His memory is a blessing.
