For your consideration, a sweet Player's Grade 1971 Gibson SG Special!
This beaty is no museum piece, but a solid ready-to-rock machine that is a great way to get an authentic vintage look, feel, and sound, without having a to worry about damaging it. The tuners have been replaced with properly fitting era-correct replacements. The truss rod cover is from a 1970s Gibson Ripper...... I know someone somewhere has a Ripper with a missing cover that would kill for this one, but we left it because the guitar sure does RIP! The truss rod works in both directions and the neck is straight with no surprises. There was a minor fracture between the fingerboard and neck that has been professionally sealed. The neck has been resprayed. It doesn't look bad, and feels find in the hand. It was done a long time ago! The frets have been replaced with slightly larger and wider frets. Whoever did it did a great job! The pickguard is original. The bridge pickup is original, the neck pickup is a vintage-spec model from Onamac Windery. New CTS pots and Switchcraft switch and jack round out the electronics. The original Maestro tremolo is missing, leaving behind three holes in the body. A stop-tail was installed at some point, based off of the plugged holes in the body. A lightweight aluminum wraptail unit is installed now and it works great! This is our prefer setup on these. The guitar has been setup and restrung, and plays great with low action.
A nice padded gig bag is included.
