1950s Martin Committee III, serial 198xxx. This is the 50's Rock and Roll Martin, a bar-honker's dream -- big bell, big bore, rolled tone holes. Huge sound w/Resonator pads. Plays great, just took it out to a jam tonight.
I made my living with this horn from 1994-2009, from smoky juke joints to arenas, backing such blues greats as Charlie Musselwhite, Jimmy Thackery, and John Nemeth. There are some "stars" in the lacquer from having small dents pulled out (Brad Wherry at Northwest Winds did the repair work between tours).
The full price includes a custom Berg 110/0 M mouthpiece tailored specifically to the horn by Bob Ludwig in Seattle. I will sell the mouthpiece separately for $750, or the horn without the mouthpiece for $2499.
I have the original, leather-bound 1950's Martin case, or I can ship it in a boxed SKB case at no charge. Injury forces sale. All I ask is you take care of her.
