Here it is! One of the rarest old Japanese made instruments: A late 60s Greco model 977 Bass. It shares the same general body shape as the "Shrike" 6 and 12 string electrics offered by Greco at the time.
How rare is it? I've never seen another in person, haven't seen one for sale, and looking online, you can only find photos of a couple of others, neither of which is green.
I included a shot of the catalog.
This one is in decent shape for a guitar of 55 or so years old. It has assorted wear, dings, and patina to the parts.
I am a guitar player but I've used it for a few shows over the years and it plays very nicely with a low, easy action.
The electronics work, though the pots may get a little scratchy if it sits. I've owned it for about 15 years.
When I got it there was no pickguard. The one on it is a reproduction made from the correct looking thick 4 ply black and white material, artificially aged to match the other appointments.
Have a look at the pics, ask questions if you have them.
It may be a long time before another one of these is available.
