This Suhr Classic S guitar is better set up than a stock/new Suhr. I bought this new in February 2024 (manufactured in 2023), and had a luthier float the bridge parallel to the body (like how Suhr used to set up their guitars back in the day) for greater tuning stability, and subsequently it has the best (and most fun) trem system I've ever experienced. It plays and sounds great, with only the lightest signs of normal, careful use. (Definitely in better condition than many guitars hanging on the wall at Guitar Center, for instance.)
It also includes Suhr's new high-end bridge/tremolo system that came out a few years ago, so it's completely up to date on specs and components. I also just had a luthier (SF Guitarworks, February 2026) set it up professionally so that you'll receive an optimized, ready-to-go instrument.
I'm selling it because I've been playing live a lot more and don't wanna take my $3k+ instrument out on gigs/tour (though plenty of folks do, but I'd rather keep this Ferrari in the garage or sell it and use the money to buy a bigger amp).
It's all stock (no mods), with:
1) A noiseless pickup system (V60LP, which I dig, and really love the bridge pickup on it, too—sounds like a humbucker when adding more gain, but like a single coil when cleaner). This guitar's tone has exceptionally nice depth and three-dimensionality.
2) Beautifully level, rolled, and shiny stainless steel frets. (The best in the biz is their reputation.)
3) Extra contours for comfort (including on the neck joint and lower horn).
4) Locking tuners.
5) A very comfortable compound radius fretboard and smooth neck.
6) Low weight: only 7 lbs 10 oz (which is about as lightweight as this Suhr model ever gets).
7) Tremolo arm (very easy/convenient to pop on and off).
8) Tools and paperwork (original and from the pro set up).
9) Professionally set up recently with 10-46 gauge strings.
10) Gig bag (in new condition, pictured).
The cool thing is that Suhr (unofficially) has a lifetime warranty on these guitars, even for used ones. You can read all about it on online blogs. They really want their guitars to last and be played forever, and are built to do so. If you've always wanted a Suhr, but thought they were too expensive or too heavy (which is the biggest knock on them), then this could be worth serious consideration.
Thank you, and may the tone be with you!
