This is a 1958 Gretsch Country Club Model.
The guitar has been in my collection for years and I am hesitatingly letting it go.
Comes with a newer Gretsch hardcase.
The guitar is in generally good condition , it plays well currently with new strings, Fender 11's.
The guitar has a long history before I owned it. Among the parts that I know are not original are:
The tuners, The pickups, which are USA made Gretsch Humbucker pickups from 1967, USA Pat 2892371 on covers.. The gold Gretsch bigsby tailpiece is old but I don't know if it is original. Original sunburst finish. Roller bridge and the wiring was upgraded.
There are small areas of crumbled binding on the back.. It had different pickups at some point , with some routing that is covered up by the pick up rings. The label is missing from the inside of the guitar. however I found a penciled serial number there that is from 1958. Also the placement of the pickups close together was only done in 1958 and 1959. This model was top of the line in 1958 with half moon inlays , bound f holes, and set neck. The action is good with minimal wear on fret board.
