Elvin Jones' Original 1970s Turkish 14" K. Zildjian Hi-Hats, Unplayed! Original Bag!

Elvin Jones's 1970s NOS 14" Turkish K. Zildjian Cymbals. Still In Original K Zildjian Bag. Authenticated!

These cymbals are part of a large collection of Elvin Jones's gear acquired directly from his estate.

I had the extreme good fortune to have acquired Elvin's entire drum collection after he passed in 2004. There were dozens of priceless pieces in the collection, but some of the true crown jewels were a few 1970s K. Zildjian cymbals that were virtually unplayed and still in their original K. Zildjian plastic bags. (There's an additional 18" unplayed K. Zildjian from the same collection also listed in my Reverb store).

These are the only unplayed K. Zildjians I've ever encountered in over 40 years of vintage drum dealing. These cymbals were hand selected by Elvin at the Gretsch factory in Brooklyn, NY in the 1970s. Gretsch was the US distributor for K. Zildjian at the time and would allow endorsers to visit the factory to personally select their cymbals. Elvin lived right across the bridge in Manhattan and was a frequent visitor.

The cymbals are in near new condition showing only some extremely slight stick marks. There are some unusual markings on the cymbals that I assume was caused by being stored in their original plastic bags for over 50 years. I have not attempted to clean or polish the cymbals. What you see is exactly what they look like straight out of the bag. The cymbals weigh 800g and 820g.
