VERSATILE PICKUP CONFIGURATION: Featuring a custom setup with a DiMarzio HS-2 humbucker and two Fender 57/62 pickups, this guitar offers a wide range of tones, capturing the essence of Johnson's signature sound.

UNIQUE WIRING FOR "KOTO" TONE: The special wiring configuration puts the middle and neck pickups out of phase with the bridge pickup, producing Johnson's distinctive "koto" tone in the second position.

COMFORTABLE MAPLE NECK: The custom "Soft V"-shaped maple neck provides a clear tone, and its 12" radius makes soloing smoother and more comfortable.

The Fender Stories Collection honors legendary musicians, their cherished modified Fender electric guitars, and the incredible music they made. Eric Johnson's 1954 "Virginia" Stratocaster was a key part of his sound on the albums Tones and the Platinum Ah Via Musicom, which cemented his status as a hero to music fans and guitarists. Eric continues to release great music and tour frequently, remaining a highly influential figure in the guitar community. In 2020, Fender will replicate Eric's 1954 Virginia Stratocaster through both the Fender Custom Shop and the Fender Corona Production line, in limited numbers.
