Here is an interesting addition to the 1970's foot-controlled effect universe. The Foot Phazzer combines a 4-transistor fuzz circuit (2 of the transistors act as clipping diodes) with a foot controlled 3-stage phaser circuit. The treadle controls the shape/depth of the phase, no LFO in there. As a result, the "phaser" circuit acts like a filter control that lets you shape the sound/tone of the fuzz, so in practice it is more like a fuzz with a cocked wah connected to it. It is very cool. The fuzz has an intensity (for more or less fuzz) control on one side, and a balance (blend of fuzz and phazz) control on the other. The filter is controlled by a tiny incandescent light bulb surrounded by 3 LDR's of differing resistance values. The treadle increases the intensity of the bulb for triggering the phase response. The pots and capacitors in this have date codes from 1968 and 1969, but it seems unlikely it was made that early (officially, I think the FP-2 was made between 1971 and 74). These early 70's Maestro effects were poorly marketed, and though ahead of their time and very innovative, they didn't catch on.

It is missing the battery door, which had the battery holder attached to it. I have put in a piece of foam to keep the dust out. There is no battery clip, but this version (unlike the metal enclosure one) has a 9v jack. I can include a tip adapter if you don't have one. Uses regular old 9v pedal power.
