You are looking at a classic 1970's era AKG model D 1000 E dynamic cardioid microphone made in Austria with outstanding sound characteristics and easily on par with any great dynamic microphone you could possibly think of from that era that I would actually compare the sound to be as good as a Shure SM-58 or Electro voice RE11 microphone. If you have never heard one of these before...you'll be pleasantly surprised. These D1000E models have a warm, smooth adjustable tone that is excellent for singing and broadcasting. Quite exceptional and the signal is very strong. I should note however that these mics are very hit and miss. Make sure you buy a D1000E that has been thoroughly gone through like this one as they all have issues after 40 + years of use and some do not sound very good or even work at all. This mic comes with an original mic clip, cable, transformer and mic case.

 The AKG mics were almost always very high quality and known for their durability and superb sound. This mic was manufactured in Austria with excellent quality control. This mic comes with the nice original mic clip and case shown. This is the only the 4th D1000E I currently have one of the nicer examples I have come across.

  Pic # 3 shows Debbi Harry using one of these very quality stage mics while performing live.

 As you can see there is extremely lite wear on the gold finish of this mic but it's free of any dents, scratches, corrosion, or fractures. The front screen is metal and has an uber modern / contemporary look. Free of tarnish, dents or odors. I replaced the inner foam pop filter as it was falling apart. The new pop filter greatly improve sound characteristics but if you want ideal sound I would suggest using the new exterior foam pop filter provided. Those seem to help a lot more than the inner pop filters. The black plastic is in very nice condition and this mic comes with a bass roll off switch on the handle as seen in pic # 11. You can get more or less bass depending on your needs with the flick of a switch and the switch is in perfect working order. 

 The mic is uni-directional and is great at cancelling out any background noise. Again...a superb mic for any live performance and worth every penny.

 The mic comes with an AKG mic clip that will screw onto any desk or floor stand as well. The mic clip shows just lite wear and provides the mic with a wide degree of tilt up and down.

 Mic takes a standard XLR cable which is included. The cable is a short 3 1/2 feet long which is great for audio equipment that is close to where you're sitting but you can always use a longer XLR cable as needed. The cable is soft, pliable and in excellent working and physical condition. Comes with the quality Switchcraft male and female XLR connectors. 

 There is a very nice Tascam !/4 inch transformer included that allows you to use this Low Z D1000E with any high impedance audio equipment you have. Simply attach the transformer to any XLR cable you have or the short one that is included and you're good to go. Transformer is in perfect physical and working condition.

 The mic has a nice original case as well. It has the original foam insert which is great for keeping the mic safe and snug once placed inside and the black vinyl case shows almost no physical wear. The top lid snaps closed and stays closed. The cardboard insert sleeve shows more wear but a great accessory to have.

 Overall I would rate this mic an easy 9 on a scale of 1 - 10 in the cosmetic department but I would recommend actually using this piece rather than for display. She's got decades of life left in her. If you want a classic AKG mic that few others have with superb sound then this will do you justice. This mic will only go up in value due to rarity and quality build.
