I purchased the guitar new from Eighth Street Music, Philadelphia, in November, 1971, after returning from a two-year service with the Peace Corps. The guitar is in good to very good condition. I have played the guitar off and on, but never gigged with it. It was serviced on October 30th of 2006 by Frank Giove of Mannella Guitars, Verona, PA. The neck was reset, the bridge was re-glued and the first four frets were replaced. The action is excellent. There are a few minor dings. The pick guard has warped upwards slightly at the bottom and top of the guard (see photo). There is a very small surface crack, at the bottom right acoustic top (see photo). The tuners are Grove. The serial number is 284179. Hard-shell case included. The guitar produces the authentic, strong intonation of the Martin D-28.
