Carmine Appice’s Complete Mapex Orion Series Set, 5-Piece Plus Hardware! Perfect!! - Birdseye Transparent Violet
This 1990s Mapex Orion Classic Series 5-Piece set was made for groundbreaking rock drummer Carmine Appice. Carmine was one of Mapex's top endorsers from 1990 through 2004. Carmine played this set throughout the 1990s, most notably while touring with Edgar Winter.
The Mapex set in transparent violet lacquer finish includes a 12×9″ and 13×10″ rack toms, 16×16″ floor tom, two 24"x14" bass drums and a 5x14 brass snare drum. All drums have Carmine's signature model Aquarian drumheads. The bass drums are still full of cut up pieces of newsprint, Carmine's secret weapon for achieving his huge live sounding bass drum sound. Some of his markings can still be seen on the hardware. A piece of strategically placed gaffers tape protects the finish on his small tom from getting scratched by his snare drum.
The drums show some minor wear from their years on the road but remain in excellent condition. The photos depict the condition accurately. The Everything works great and sounds amazing.
The set includes all of the drums and hardware in the photos The cymbals in the photos are not included but available separately.
A complete set of Carmine's pro-quality Protechtor molded cases are also included. There is one case for each drum plus a hardware case. All of the cases are stenciled "Carmine Appice".
