It’s difficult to beat the sound of an all Mahogany guitar. Especially when it’s a custom handmade Santa Cruz Vintage Southerner. Holy moly. Build to our specs, this is one spectacular guitar. Solid premium mahogany body with added custom features, such as the 1929 specs, Adirondack bracing attached with hot hide glue and custom ‘backlit’ tortoise binding. Another masterpiece from our friends at SCGC.
The Vintage Southerner Model draws inspiration from iconic guitars like the 1930s Advanced Jumbo, J-45, and the early '60s Epiphone Texan, which were favorites among several seasoned luthiers at SCGC. This regal addition to the SCGC VJ Model is distinguished by its must-have feature: a shorter 24-3/4 inch scale length. This shorter scale makes fretting and reaching notes a pleasure, positioning the bridge perfectly to produce the warm, growling tones reminiscent of old blues recordings. The VS offers a more refined quality than vintage guitars while providing room for growth throughout your musical journey.
