This Taylor Custom Select 414ce combines the classic tones of Sitka Spruce with the focus and definition of the Big Leaf Maple back and sides.

Maple back and sides offer some of the most defined and “true” tones of any tonewood available.  Players will immediately notice the benefit of Maple when examining their strings' individual voices–you won’t find muddy tones here.  While Maple doesn’t have the bottom end boom of rosewood, it does have incredible balance and players will find that their playing style uniquely interacts with the characteristics of Maple.
