The White Russian is a faithful reproduction of the circuit of the Big Muff pedals produced by Sovtek in the early 90s. It is one of the versions of the circuit that has the most distinct sound, with more controlled bass and less gain than most of its Electro Harmonix siblings. These tighter bass frequencies make it one of the favorite pedals for bassists, maintaining definition even at higher gain levels. Its singing sustain captivates guitarists from various music genres, from David Gilmour (who used the Sovtek in the recording of Pulse) to Dan Auerbach, guitarist of the Black Keys.
The White Russian celebrates the utilitarian look of the original Soviet Big Muff, but with various modern conveniences: reduced size, true bypass, metal film resistors - which drastically reduce the noise from the original design - and all the reliability of Collateral FX pedals.
