Completely original 1986 Kramer Focus 6000 guitar, created in the era of hair metal and marketed to guitarists who wanted to shred and look cool while doing so. It has an offset humbucker at the bridge and two single coils in the middle and neck positions. It also has individual toggle switches for each pickup instead of a selector switch, which adds to the unique look and feel of this amazing guitar. It has the popular Floyd Rose double locking tremolo which was pretty much standard on shredding machines back in the day. This 38 year old guitar is in fantastic shape and ready for a new home.

Kramer Focus guitars from the 80s were made in Japan and have a steady following among players and enthusiasts alike. Now they are becoming increasingly difficult to find and have good potential to become even more collectible as time passes. There is nothing like holding an original Kramer built during the heavy metal era - it's definitely a conversation starter. It has a fast maple neck with a rosewood fretboard, and the 3 pickup toggle switches give you a variety of tonal options with the HSS configuration. These are all quality woods which are found only on more expensive guitars these days.

This is a killer 80’s shredder! The body has some serious dings, dents, and scratches from the last 38 years though, but none that affect playability. So this classic Superstrat has stood the test of time and is a real fun guitar to play that sounds great. Everything is just about as it seems in terms of the controls, which are basically a single master volume and an on/off switch for each pickup. Each of these pickups sound great by themselves - the bridge humbucker is bright, hot, and crisp with some bite, middle pup has a nice medium-sounding body and a little extra mid-range quack, and the neck pickup sounds warmer and fuller. And those individual on/off switches for each pickup allow for some great combinations outside of the standard 5-way switch. The wiring configuration in the Kramer Focus 6000 is useful too - it was not compensated for partial phase cancellation. So certain combinations of pickups produce unique responses with slightly scooped and boosted aspects of the dynamic range, giving each one a little more character.

The neck on this Superstrat has a pretty common C shape and should be an easy transition for most players. It has sealed chrome tuning machines, 1-5/8” locking nut, and is the typical 25.5” scale length. The body and neck were built by the ESP factory in Japan, so the quality is high. The body is made of alder, and the neck is maple with a rosewood fretboard and 22 frets. The bridge system is the Original Floyd Rose Tremolo, and the pickups are made by ESP for Kramer.

It looks like this guitar has seen some real good times! These pictures try to show all the dings, paint chips and scratches from its nearly 4 decades. There’s the usual light pick marks on the front where expected. The back has no belt rash, only light rubbing marks where expected. The matching red headstock has a small ding and some light edge abrasion on the front. The string guide has been moved a few times on the headstock, but you can see it is still in pretty good shape.

There are several dings shown around the right and left horns, and many small dings/ chips around the pickup switches and input jack. There are also dings and chips to the far left of the bridge, the bottom edge of the body, on the side of the left horn, and between the middle and neck pickups. Most of these chips have been painted-over with other red paint as the pictures try to show, including the biggest one on the left side of the guitar towards the bottom. The serial# is 68586, and the weight is 7.82 pounds.

Shipping will be insured. This guitar will ship quickly, with the strings loosened and paper put under the strings to protect the frets.

This guitar is inspected and tested. It is a used guitar, so it is possible that small nicks or dings have been missed. Or in the case of an older guitar, there may be just too many blemishes to photograph all of them. So you may find a nick or ding that has not been described or shown in a photo. Because of this, please understand that unless the guitar was damaged in shipping, we cannot be responsible for any send or return shipping charges.

Also, guitars can experience slight changes during shipping that may require minor adjustments. And how you like your guitar setup can’t be predicted. This guitar is setup nicely to satisfy most guitar players, and is setup to typical industry standards for this specific guitar. Be advised that minor adjustments or a setup to your liking may be required.
