Stunning early Gibson Custom Shop 335 Dot reissue with a production date of October 1983.
This is pretty much everything you want from a 335. Sounds incredible with original Tim Shaw pickups, and has been professionally set up so plays like a dream. In the sought after blonde natural finish, with a spectacular flamed maple top, and until me had one owner who hardly played it, so is close to mint.
Made in the first couple of years of the revived Gibson Custom Shop, as it wound back the variable standards of the Norlin 1970s.
Comes with original pamphlet and case, and a strap from the shop it was originally purchased In Canberra.
You’ll notice some brown marks on the back under the neck join. Hard to tell if this is part of the original finish or from storage on a stand of some kind - two of the experts I asked were divided on this point. Apart from that there is a tiny chip out at the back of the headstock. These are the only small flaws of a near mint guitar.
Priced according to some recent sales of Gibson 335 Custom Shops from the era. If you were looking for a new RI with this kind of flame, you‘d be looking at a fair bit more.
I have absolutely loved owning this guitar for a few years, it could well be the nicest guitar I’ve ever owned, but have had a change of circumstance that has made me move a lot of gear on to new homes. Happy to answer questions od give you an in-hand description.
