This Texan is a bit more than meets the eye. Previously incorrectly listed as a 69’ Texan we have done more research and found this specific guitar to be a bit of a unicorn. Made in Kalamazoo in 1966. In 1970 production specs were changed to incorporate a screw on pick guard instead of the previously glued on ones. Models made before 70’ including a screw on guard are indicative of a repair. However, this guitar has the original finish underneath the guard. Confirming this as the very first documented pre 1970 unit with a factory made screw on guard. Has had a bridge and neck reset. Neck angle is correctly in line with top of bridge, and action is 5/64 low e, 1/16 high e with .005” relief. Comes with hardshell case.
The serial #541166.
Note* since being removed and re-listed the price on this guitar has increased to match its correct identification.
