The S.E. Shires Custom tenor trombone is a versatile instrument with a clear, pure sound and the consistency, playability, and projection that has made S.E. Shires 7LYW bell combines the quick response and color of a lightweight bell with the centered feel and expansive tone of a two-piece bell. The TI taper in yellow brass produces a dense, rich sound that projects throughout the range of dynamics. The axial-flow valves feel very broad and even, and allow for a truly open low register. A paired TW47 hand slide provides a balanced feel and tonal color of yellow brass, with the response and slotting of the nickel brass crook. Three interchangeable leadpipes allow the player to fine-tune to their desired resistance, response, and tone.
