Fully restored rocking little system. A very surprisingly awesome sanyo turntable from the heyday of vinyl... Amazing sounding ortofon cartridge and stylus...
I gotta say that of all the 1976 era turn tables, this one has one of the best tone arms I've seen in a long time. Bearings are awesome... It's just very well made and balanced. Looks like a micro seiki!
I did a sizable amount of work on it, but I wasn't prepared for the sound it produced! I've had a number of sanyo products over the years... And I can honestly say this is not one of them! This one rocks! It's simply awesome! The combination of all the components is something that you rarely hear in this era, in this brand, which cab only be called symbiosis!
I can find very little on this particular model. However the bottom of the unit directly resembles the makeup and build of Elac turntables of the era. Elac was German, but farmed out some of the manufacturing to Japan. And likely there is some sharing going on here, such as the plinth suspension and other things. This is NOT a Sanyo original product, but a slightly improved Elac, with what appears to be an unmarked Seiki tone arm. That's the only sense I can make of it!
Small but powerful Kenwood receiver with lots of tone controlz and some repurposed studio monitors, With amazing sounding kevlar cone woofer and silk dome tweeters.
Just check the video down below and you'll hear some pretty awesome tones coming from that system. Great sounding low profile thumper!
