VERY Unique and one of a kind.
This Beautiful Djembe was handmade in the early 1990s by a Wood Turner and is of exceptional quality. It is “Segmented“ construction which means it is made by first stacking and gluing segments of wood together, then turning it on a lathe, so the surface is not a veneer surface. The multicolored wood types go all the way through the surface into the interior.
Being turned on a lathe, it has a relatively perfectly simetrical form. It is light weight and has a medium low tone. Though it is playable, I consider it a high end gift for a collector to display and has some minor abrasion marks on the very bottom rim from where it rested on the floor while performing with it.
