For sale is a wonderful 1979 Gibson Les Paul Deluxe Goldtop. We got this one from the original owner and it was definitely gigged out a bunch according to them. If it could talk probably would have some pretty great stories just from what the original owner told us. Cosmetically the guitar is in good shape for being 45 years old showing normal nicks, dings, elbow rash (which has green very nicely) and a decent amount of buckle rash but otherwise it was well kept throughout its lifetime. The original pots date to the 2nd week of 1979 and original pickups read 6.32K in the bridge and 6.28K in the neck so they are very well balanced. The current tuners are newer Grover "Deluxe" replacement tuners but the guitar had the tuners replaced at some point with Schallers so there are some filled extra screw holes and the post holes are slightly enlarged. The jackplate is a replacement and it is missing the control cavity shielding tub. The guitar sports a fast medium/thin D neck profile with a 1st fret depth of .85" and a 12th fret depth of .98". It is currently playing great with med/low action but like any other guitar may need a final set up to your preference when received. The guitar weighs 9 lbs 14 oz which for a Norlin era Les Paul is very respectable. This one comes as shown with a non original SKB case but no additional items.
