The Zulu is a cool passive unit, which runs your sound through handsome-made transformers. Signal is reduced at the output, so the user has an opportunity to employ a separate make-up gain stage before ADC. Controls have unique ability to affect high-frequency level and overall saturation. mastering style knobs for easy matching and recall. Does wonders as a ”tape emulator” but really has its own sound.
