This is one of the Glassl models sold by „Hopf“. Hopf was a german luthier, who produced all kinds of instruments during the golden age of german guitarmaking between the 1950s and the 1980s. They where famous for their unique designs and the diverse sounds of their guitars. They made a lot of famous electric models, like The „Saturn 63“ or the „Telstar“, but had really fine archtops and Semi-acoustics too.+
Gustav Glassl was one oft the smaller high quality shops wich sold to Hopf as part of a buiseness arrangement because Hopf couldnt keep up with the demand (another example would be Astro). Glassl made the guitars in his shops and sold them to Hopf. Hopf then sold them to customers.
The guitar is in really good condition for its age with only very little wear, as you can see in the pictures. The tuners turn smoothly and hold the string tension well. The guitar sounds really full and well and is perfect for the blues and jazz music of the 50s and 60s. The guitar plays very comfortably too because of the low action and the straight neck. The frets where polished, the fretboard got oiled and the strings are new too!
The guitar can be played immediatly.
If you have any questions left, or if you need more pictures, feel free to ask :-)
About shipping:
I ship worldwide with DHL and with the DHL-shipping insurance wich goes up to 500€. I am not going to lie to you or blandish a possible transport risk like some other people do. International shipping can be dangerous and packages are sometimes treated roughly. If you however choose to have an international shipment, I will do my absolute best to protect the guitar. I have collected a lot of experience in the past on how to ship a guitar securely. I will take photos of the packaging and the exact condition of the guitar right before I ship it. You should know, that after shipping the guitar and entering the shipping number, I am not responsible for anything anymore and my job is done. But I will gladly back you up with the insurance case with said photos and exact details in the rare case anything goes wrong. The standart insurance I ship all guitars with is up to 500€. If you want a higher insurance, you can get that, just ask me first.
