I bought this SG as a project with no hardware and broken headstock. Reglued headstock and added 2 pins to front and back for added strength. Refinished with black gloss lacquer. The repair is structurally solid. Cosmetically it is not perfect but you could not tell it was repaired without a very close inspection.
I installed Seymour Duncan SH-1B and SH-1N pickups with a coil tap on the neck pickup. Hardware is a Kluson aluminum tailpiece, Grover bridge and Grover vintage tuners. Gibson control pots, 50's style wiring with Orange drop capacitors. Plays and sounds great. Truss rod operates freely. Please review the photos and ask any questions.
